  • Scan data: First name, last name, state, and email address you provide for scanning.
  • Account data: Email address and hashed password when you create an account.
  • Payment data: Processed securely by Stripe or Coinbase Commerce. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Usage data: Basic analytics such as pages visited and scan frequency.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To perform data broker scans using the name and location you provide.
  • To send you scan results and account-related emails.
  • To process subscription payments.
  • To improve our scanning accuracy and service quality.

3. Data Retention

Free scan data is retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted. Paid subscriber scan history is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 30 days after cancellation. Account data is retained until you request deletion.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except:

  • Payment processors: Stripe and Coinbase Commerce process your payments securely.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not share your scan data with data brokers, advertisers, or any other third parties.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure payment processing. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Export your scan results.
  • Opt out of marketing emails.

ExposureGuard is not intended for use by individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
